Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Huda Basheer, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Rehab Saleh, Vice Dean of students’ affairs, and the supervision of Dr. Hanan Ghoneim, the Executive Director of the faculty’s MAU, the MAU’s Training and Media Committee organized a virtual training workshop entitled “Constructing Test Items” for the faculty and assistant members on Wednesday November 3, 2021 on Microsoft Teams. The trainer was Dr. Esraa Mohamed Ali, Lecturer at the Department of Educational Sciences. The workshop highlighted how a test item should be constructed and included:
- Characteristics of a well-constructed test (validity, reliability, objectivity, discrimination power)
- Types of tests (oral, written)
- Criteria of creating selected-response items (true or false, multiple choice, matching)
- Criteria of creating constructed-response items (complete the statement, long-answer essay, short-answer essay) and weekly and semester evaluation. The workshop was very interactive and involving
