The Faculty of Education for Early Childhood, Alexandria Uniersity (formerly as the Faculty of Kindergarten) is located at Mustafa Kamel area of ​​Amin Shohaib Street No. 12, Alexandria. It was established in 1989; it replaced the building of the House of Teachers formerly, as a culmination of the efforts exerted to promote the Egyptian children and to prepare them to keep pace with the age of information and technology so that we can lay the foundations of a civilized country that is being prepared to restore its position as a lighthouse of science and civilization in the world. Republican Decree No. 389 of 1998 was issued to include the Faculty of Kindergarten at the Alexandria University.

Believing in its broad cultural role, the University of Alexandria decided to increase its scientific expansion, so efforts were exerted to lay the foundations by including the Faculty at the University of Alexandria, which is considered a great university that carries out its mission as a lighthouse for the contemporary teacher in the Arab world.

Due to the significance of the Egyptian children, Alexandria University has paid attention to the need to raise the level of children in the pre-school stage, and this upgrade is only achieved by raising the level of the teachers' performance of that stage in order to prepare our children for the proper preparation that qualifies them to keep pace with the current progress, by preparing an academically-qualified and trained kindergarten teacher according to the latest theories of education and modern psychology of the child at that stage, where the students receive practical training in the kindergartens of the Ministry of Education schools during her studies in the third and fourth years at the faculty in order to gain confidence and skills to deal with the children in the real education environment; they are also supervised by the faculty teaching staff and supervisors from the Ministry of Education to evaluate and estimate its performance and help them overcome obstacles of applying educational theories and psychology
